the approach
the method
Darkness is the container. The method is what makes it mean something. Five stages, in order, each with a purpose. The same sequence governs a six-hour reset at home and a three-day retreat in person. Only the depth changes.
stage one
interrupt
The noise stops on purpose. External input drops to zero: no screens, no feeds, no performance for an audience. The first minutes are restless. Stay. Restlessness is the sound of a system used to being talked at.
stage two
settle
The body becomes the anchor. Breath, heartbeat, the weight of sitting. Sensation gets louder as sight goes quiet. You are not looking for visions. You are learning to feel what you actually feel instead of what you narrate.
stage three
confront
What avoidance kept at a distance steps forward: the pattern you already suspect, the decision postponed, the truth that needs no audience. The method asks you to stay with it, gently, and write down what shows up.
stage four
emerge
Light returns slowly, by design. The exit is a protocol, not a door you stumble through. You leave with at least one pattern identified and one priority worth attention. Small, specific, yours.
stage five
integrate
The hours after matter as much as the hours inside. Structured reflection, rest, water, no immediate feeds. The reset ends when the insight survives contact with ordinary life, not when the mask comes off.
what the method is not
not therapy
This is a structured self-exploration practice. It is not clinical treatment, not a substitute for care from licensed professionals, and not a detox. If a professional relationship is what you need, get one. The method works with a stable mind that wants honesty, not with a crisis.
"You cannot hear yourself over the noise. The method removes the noise, stage by stage."
